Eggzy in Real Eats Magazine!

We got the chance to chat with David Becker of friendofthefarmer.com and had a great time discussing  the basics of chicken farming, especially as it relates to those who live in urban areas and are just starting out.  Check it out, the article is called Cluck to Pluck and it is featured in the Farmacology section of Real Eats magazine.

    article was very nice. We got started with two Silkie Christmas Pullets–what a surprise! We quickly built an enclosed and covered pen off to the side of our storage shed and the little pullets bedded down quickly in the left over doghouse our dog refused to use. That’s how it all started! Now we have 10 hens and they roost at night in our storeroom in left over rabbit cages so they each get their own apartment. We keep it about 45 minimum during cold winters and the girls love running around the backyard during the day. The best stress-reliever on the planet. And the eggs sure help also. Great article. Hope it helps someone come to enjoy hens in the backyard.
